In this section, I'll cover four common Seeburg
vertical play mechanism problems in this section. The first two and last symptoms pertain
to any jukebox between the M100A and the SMC3. The third may not be caused by
the specific selection system used in the jukebox. After all, the selection
system is only responsible for selection Write-In, one third of the entire
process. The problem could be in the Read-Out or Trip circuits, which are
similar for any Tormat jukebox, starting with the 1955 V200 and ending with the
1978 STD4/10078D. Below are procedures for the first two and fourth symptoms, and a way to
determine the cause of the third. Please note that while I have checked and
rechecked to insure that the below information is correct, I take no
responsibility for any difficulties incurred as a result of performing any
operations listed.
Symptoms:
- Symptom 1:
When a selection is made, the mechanism
scans, picks up a record, plays it, starts to put it back into the magazine,
plays it again, etc. If you have this problem,
-
Symptom 2: When a selection is made, the mechanism
scans, picks up the record, immediately rejects it, moves on to the next
selection, picks it up, immediately rejects it, etc. If you have this
problem, click here.
-
Symptom 3: When a
selection is made, the mechanism scans twice, picks up
nothing, and stops. If you have this problem,
-
Symptom 4: Record
does not reject at the end of play, or cannot reject
from the switch on the back of the cabinet or the PRVC.
